Chantecaille: Les Macarons Face Palette

Chantecaille's holiday 2010 Les Macarons Face Palette is a convenient, slim-sized palette containing two eyes colors: Cassis, a striking deep aubergine and Caramel, a beautiful champagne shimmer; a blush, Raspberry, a healthy pink with gold shimmer; cream highlighter, Rose, a pale icy-pink; and Strawberry lip gloss, a sheer, peachy-pink with subtle gold shimmer. According to Chantecaille, this limited edition palette was inspired by various flavors of macaroon cookies. It retails for $68 and is currently available at Neiman Marcus and at Chantecaille.com.

What drew me to this palette were the flattering shades and variety of products included. The size and weight is ideal for stashing in your purse. A drawback is that a blush brush is not included, so you would need to carry along your own brush if you plan to reapply during the day, as well as use it carefully due to the small pan-size of the blush. It is such a pretty color though! The eye colors and blush are nicely pigmented and the highlighter is gorgeous. The lip gloss is a little sheer to use on its own, but is nonetheless very pretty and will look great over another lipstick or liner. Chantecaille's website suggests using it along with Water Lily (Hydrachic) and Discreet (Lip Definer). I hope to get a lot of use out of this palette!

  1. Does it smell/taste as good as it sounds?? It looks lovely and very wearable...but then , whatever claims to be macaron-inspired gets my vote!! xx

  2. Anna: The names of the colors do sound tasty--wouldn't it be fun if it did smell/taste accordingly, but alas it seems to be unscented!

  5. great review and gorgeous pics. The colours look fantastic but this is so out of my price range. Thats the worst thing about beauty blogs - there's so many gorgeous products I'd just love to get my hands on but cant quite afford! :)

  6. @All Made Up: So true! I too see so many products on blogs that catch my interest. When I buy a lot of makeup I need to stop spending on everything else to make up for it!
