Dolce & Gabbana Italian Summertime 2011: Passione Nail Lacquer

Passione is a vibrant deep magenta that appears more purple-toned in low lighting. The first coat goes on very sheer and optimal coverage is achieved with 3 coats. I found I have an almost identical color in my stash: Deborah Lippmann's Between the Sheets, so if you happen to have that one in your collection you can confidently pass this one up. Illamasqua's Grab is also extremely close, as you'll see in the photos below.

Dolce & Gabbana Summer 2011: Passione

  1. Dolce & Gabbana: Rose
  2. Dolce & Gabbana: Passione
  3. Lippmann: Between the Sheets
  4. Illamasqua: Grab
  5. OPI: Houston We Have a Purple
  6. Nars: Schiap

On the left is Passione, and on the right: Between the Sheets

  1. Between the sheets is a really close dupe. For some reason, looking at this n/p shade reminds me a lot of MAC's Spitfire lipstick. Thanks for the beautiful swatches and comparison.

  4. Kristie, Thanks! I'll have to check out Spitfire lipstick - I haven't seen that one :)

Makeup Merriment, lol I can't believe I actually have so many colors that look exactly the same!

  5. What a great color wheel of pinks and magentas! Passione is lovely, although I have to say my favorite swatch from your selection is Schiap =)

  7. Ooh...never tried D&G nail lacquer before. Passione is a nice color but I like Rose better due to the duochrome finish. Does it take long for D&G polish to dry? I'm kind of an impatient person when it comes to doing my nails :P And is Rose still available or is it limited edition?

  8. Hi Paige, Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! D&G dries pretty quickly. I haven't had any issues with the formula. Some people dislike the brush design though. Rose is not limited edition :)
