Dolce & Gabbana: Sole Blush

Picture above taken with flash
Sole is by far the most intensely pigmented blush in my collection. The only one that comes remotely close to it in terms of brightness is MAC's Bite of an Apple from the Venomous Villains collection. As you can see Bite of an Apple is somewhat lighter and more of a watermelon pink whereas Sole has more red tones. Despite its brightness I believe it will be flattering on a wide range of skin tones. I am fair-medium and have to use a very small amount on my brush and then blend, blend, blend; otherwise it seems to concentrate in a small area and appear slightly patchy, but once blended out sufficiently it looks very natural, healthy, and pretty! A little goes a long way and at this rate it will last me a lifetime. Those with darker skin may be able to apply it more liberally and may be pleased with the level of pigmentation.

  1. WOW! That is some pigmented blush! It's such a pretty hue. I think the most pigmented blush in my stash is Crazed from Nars. I have to use it very lightly or I look like Bozo the clown. It's scary pigmented! x jeanie

  3. Beautiful shade. It reminds me a little bit of NARS Exhibit A. Bite of Apple also looks lovely! Thank you for the gorgeous pictures and swatches x

  4. That is gorgeous! How do you think it compares to NARS Cactus Flower (minus the shimmer)?

  5. Hi Nat, I don't have Exhibit A but have seen swatches and agree it looks very similar! :)

Hi Julia, I don't have Cactus Flower, but based on swatches I've seen I think the Nars may have more pink tones and is lighter. This one has more red in it :)

  6. I love red blushes! Despite how scary they may look I actually feel that they're very natural looking.. I love Panic from Illamasqua and Scandalous from Sleek which is simila to this...

  8. Hi Urban Warrior, It is $44 and currently available on Saks.com -- might be worth checking out in person if you have a counter in your area to make sure you like the way it applies! :)
