Dolce & Gabbana Italian Summertime: Eyeliners - Bronzo & Agave

Hi everyone, here is a closer look at the two eyeliners released with D&G's summer collection:  Bronzo, a frosted beige-taupe, and Agave, a deep cypress green with gold shimmer.

Below is a comparison to D&G's Coffee and Chanel's Rose Platine. As you can see Bronzo is slightly lighter and more of a sandy-beige taupe and Rose Platine is a metallic taupe-pewter. Bronzo has more of a frosty finish and has a creamier texture. I like them both, but prefer Rose Platine as it is a bit darker, more complex, and has an extra little glimmer that is lacking in Bronzo. Both of these shades work nicely to lightly define the lower lashline. I like to use these on the upper lashline in combination with black (or any other dark-toned liner) on the outer corners for added definition.

Agave is a beautiful dark green shade and a nice alternative to black for a smoky-eye look. I really like the gold shimmer in this one. I don't wear green that often but hope to get a lot of use out of Agave!

When blended out the gold shimmer becomes more apparent

  1. That is stunning! I am so not familiar with D&G cosmetics. You are making me want to change that very quickly!

  2. I always overlook liners when looking at makeup, but d&g bronzo and Chanel rose platine do look wonderful! I bet they do look quite lovely on the lower lash-line as you mentioned

Hi Dovey, I sometimes overlook liners too but these seemed different than anything else I have :)

  11. Hey!! I was inspired by your D&G posts to go out and try some of their eyeshadows!! I got the Contrasts quad and Fortune duo based on your pictures, am very excited about these..thanks for enabling!! Do you recommend any of their other quads for a MAC NC 43? I have my eye on Nudes and Vulcano.. ;)
The eyeliners in this post are gorgeous btw, have you ever tried the MAC kohl pencil in Tarnish? It is a beautiful deep green with a teal tint that no one ever seems to talk about.. one of my favorites to add to a bronzey/warm smokey eye

  12. Hi Lakshmi, Contrasts was the first quad I got and still a favorite. Have you tried Mediterraneo? It is another nice one (check Makeup and Beauty Blog for photos). I have not tried Tarnish but it sounds pretty! Thanks for the recommendation! :)

  13. Wow Agave is gorgeous!! There are no local counters with D&G near my place to check these out in person. Like the previous commenter, MAC's Tarnish kohl is similar to Agave but doesn't seem to pop as much as Agave. Thanks so much for covering this collection!

  14. Hi Kristie! I too don't have a counter in my area but was lucky enough to have a sales associate who offered to email me iphone swatches! (Maygan @ Saks Bal Harbour. I will definitely check out MAC's Tarnish :) I still need to post the lipstick swatches--hopefully tomorrow!
