  1. So much gorgeousness! They all look amazing. Now I'm kind of kicking myself for not getting that Estee Lauder bronzer. *sigh*

  3. Hi Liz :) Thanks for stopping by, I wonder if it's still available online? I got mine a month or so ago :) I almost didn't want to ruin the pretty shimmery overspray on the star but now that I've swatched it I can start using it!

  5. Wow! I know your pictures are always awesome quality, but I was totally blown away by the beautiful products mixed with the gritty crystalline sand and seashells. I must have stopped for a good minute just to ogle the Bobbi Brown shadows =P. BB Nude Beach is definitely one of my favorite summer shadows, it provides the perfect natural sheen for my eyes. I'm really loving Paul and Joe #003 from your swatches. Some of my go-to shadows this summer are the gold from NARS Exotic dance and Bobbi Brown Beige Linen.

  8. Hi jbrobeck, Thanks so much! :)

Hi Dovey, The Paul & Joe 003 is so pretty, if you're careful you can pick up the 3 shades separately but for the swatch I swirled them all together and it makes a nice taupe. Nars Exotic Dance is gorgeous. I will have to check out Beige Linen - thanks! :)

Hi Flyavsted, Thank you :) Wouldn't it be lovely to spend a month or so at an island resort! Wish I could get away from work for that long *sigh* :)

Hi Rachel, Aww, thanks so much, all the credit goes to the macro lens I got a couple of months ago! It's helped so much for the close-ups :) xx

  9. Hi Makeup Merriment, Thanks! Aren't these neutral colors great? I love taking photos, but usually for every good image there are 10 bad ones that no one will ever see! :)

  10. Beautiful pictures! I really appreciate the time you put into this post--I know it can't have been easy. I love seeing all these gorgeous shades together with the perfect backdrop, and I am really surprised by how much I love the P&J shadows! Especially 003 and 03. I doubt 003 is still around, but I bet I can still find 03 since it's relatively new. Really a stunning collection, thanks again!

  11. Hi Zuzu's Petals, Thanks so much! :) I think Dermstore.com might still have this Pearl Powder, but I usually purchase Paul & Joe from Beautyhabit.com. I really like the P&J summer collection -- their packaging is always so pretty! :)

  12. MM,thanks for the tip. I've bought from Dermstore, but they only carry the old stuff. I do love Beautyhabit.com (*excellent* customer service), and they sell the P&J Self Select colors, which I like, too. You made me want to bring my P&J stuff out and play with it again! I love the packaging, and have lots of their makeup bags. Love the kitties.

  13. I agree Beautyhabit has great service! I haven't tried the Self Select colors yet -- I should take a look :)

  14. Love love your photos and your taste in makeup!! I find myself gravitating towards similar color families, but it's just so beautiful to see them photographed so creatively! The EL cream shadows were a real surprise to me, they really stay in place, like they say!! Have you tried Cafe Au Lait, great sandy-gold and D&G Sparkling lipstick would fit right in here as well, and some of the old Aquqlumieres from Chanel, no?

  15. you take the most beautiful photos. Not to mention the fact that I love sandy and beachy colors :)

  16. Oh I forgot, Benefit's Fawn over me is a great color too, as is Chanel's ombré d'eau in Sand (I forget the #). The new for summer P&J 003 surprised me, I love how swirling changes the color to an almost olivey taupe.

  17. Your photos are insanely beautiful! Now I just need you to take all my makeup photos ;)
I keep going back and forth on whether to pick up any of the P&J summer and your pictures of the shadow and bronzer are very tempting :)

  18. Hi Lakshmi, Thank you! I haven't seen Cafe Au Lait and look forward to looking at it next time I'm in the mall -- thanks for the recommendation. I have D&G Sparkling and you're right it would have fit in perfectly. And how did I forget the Ombre de eau in Sand?! :) The color of the P&J also surprised me but I really like it.

Hi luv2smile: Thanks! I love sandy and beachy colors too as they are so easy to wear & match with everything! :)

Hi Replica, thanks so much for the sweet compliment! There are so many gorgeous bronzers available this season--it's not like I really NEEDED the P&J, but I'm weak and couldn't resist the pretty fish design. :) I like the one eyeshadow I got a lot.

  19. Love, love your photo. It's just so aesthetically pleasing! I like neutral makeup so sandy eye shadow colors are totally up my alley. I have Chantecaille Pyrite and its texture/color is pretty amazing.

I only have one bronzer. It works for me but it look very plain in comparison to your bronzer collection. Yours is very drool worthy :)

  20. Paige, Thanks so much :) Chantecaille Pyrite is so pretty! I went a little overboard with the bronzers this season. There were so many great ones available. I think I am probably done with bronzers for the rest of this lifetime! :)

  21. These picture are just amazing. You are encouraging me to push myself to learn how to makes better use of my camera!

  22. Hi Lexi, thank you! :) The macro lens I use has made close-ups a million times easier!

  23. I'm just in LOVE with your photography! What camera do you use. amazing resolution. X

  24. Hi Mercedes, Thanks! I use a Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 with a Leica macro lens for the close-ups :)

  25. Thank you for replying! I want to get a nice camera and I ask some bloggers which photos I admire..like yours. The thing is that you all use a different one and I get a bit confused as to what to get. Do you like that camera all in all? Is it easy to use, settings and so on?
Did I tell you that I'm in LOVE with your blog!? Love it :)

  26. Hi Mercedes, Thank you! :) What's nice about the Panasonic is it is micro four-thirds size & you can buy different lenses for it. The Leica macro lens is awesome, but the standard one that it comes with is just so-so. It took some practice to learn which settings work best and doesn't work well in low light. If I had more cash I probably would have gone with a Nikon D90 or whatever the latest model is. :)
