Le Métier de Beauté Eye Look

I've been in a Le Métier de Beauté mood recently and decided to break out a few of my neglected eye shadow singles and also acquired some new ones over the last few days. These little suckers are addictive! Below is a simple look using mainly Bordeaux (shimmery mahogany brown), with a little Chameleon (olive gold) and a tiny bit of Jojo (shimmery taupe). If you haven't already, be sure to visit Perilously Pale to see her post featuring a lovely look using Chameleon combined with the beautiful Fire Lily.

Jojo - inner corner/tear duct highlight
Bordeaux - outer two-thirds of lid and corner of bottom lashline
Chameleon - inner half of lid and to blend out above crease
MAC Power Surge Eye Kohl - lower lashline
MAC Feline Eye Kohl outer half of upper lashline

Below:  I added MAC's Feline eye kohl on the waterline for more definition, although it's a little more dramatic than what I normally wear and it really smudges, so I would probably choose something else next time!

All products used:
Clinique Neutrally, Estee Lauder Sugar Honey, MAC Style, LMdB Jojo, Chameleon & Bordeaux, MAC Feline Powersurge

Wishing everyone a safe and happy 4th of July holiday!

  5. I love the way the burgundy colour accentuates your eye colour.
I never tried lmdb make-up. It's quite expensive, isn't it?
Maybe one day I'll treat myself :)

  6. What a gorgeous combination! It just proves you don't need a Kaleidoscope to achieve a stunning, layered look. I wish I could see Bordeaux in person. It looks gorgeous in your photographs.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and holiday. :)

  7. Hi Martha, Thank you :) Have a nice holiday!

    Hi Charlie, thanks so much!

Hi Mercedes, Thank you - the line is quite expensive and definitely a pricey indulgence. Eye shadow singles are $30. They have good texture and pigmentation but I have to say you can probably find decent duplicates for a lot less!

Hi ZP, Thank you :) Bordeaux was one of the first colors I bought and I like it a lot. It reminds me a little of "Spectacle of Yourself" from MAC's Peacocky collection but it has more plum tones and is more luminous. Have a nice holiday! :)

  11. That is absolutely stunning on you!! I must try and recreate that look immediately. It brings out your eye colour so nicely. I can't believe I don't own Bordeaux yet. It's similar to a shade in Le Cirque so I've skipped so far but I think I must pick up the Tunsian Trist Kaleidoscope from Neiman Marcus because I want Pink Champagne as well.

Thank you so much for the mention!!! I'm incredibly flattered! xoxo

  15. You are so beautiful and I love the eye combo! :) I have really been into LMdB recently and have enjoyed layering the colors. Dustin at Bergdorf's suggested this great combo: Spicy all over as a base, warmed up with Firelily, Fig for depth and Midnight sky as a liner. The funny thing is if you ever saw these colors in a quad it'd look so wacky!! On the eyes it really works, for reference I'm NC 43 in coloring..
I will try out this combo using what I have, it's very inspiring to see your looks, please do more? Thanks and hope you are having a great weekend!

  17. Hi Jane, Thanks so much! I was inspired by your recent lovely LMdB Kaleidoscope looks. I just got Powersurge a few weeks ago and have been using it a lot for lower lashline :) x

Hi Lakshmi, Thanks you are always so sweet! I really love LMdB's shadows and I have a few lipsticks and glosses as well. I wish they would expand their range! Thanks for passing along the combo suggested by Dustin, that sounds very pretty! :) Enjoy the rest of your weekend! x

Hi Ava, Thanks very much :) To make the Bordeaux stand out a bit more I like to layer it over a very dark brown liner/base :)
