Chanel Spring 2012 Harmonie de Printemps - Selected Items

Hi everyone, I just wanted to quickly share a few product photos of the items I picked out from Chanel's Harmonie de Printemps collection. I went to the mall to do some holiday shopping today but was sidetracked by the irresistible siren call of the Chanel counter. Spring has arrived! (Sidenote: I can't believe how quickly this year has flown by--I feel like winter hasn't even officially arrived here in South Florida, yet here I am buying spring makeup!)

I chose the three polishes: April, May, and June; the Blush Horizon de Chanel; and the shadow quad Eclosion. I'll try to post swatches at some point during the coming week or so--unfortunately, time (and sunlight) ran out before I could do so today. I took my photos in the early evening as the sun was setting, which, with my camera, causes colors to lean warm. If you don't have access to a counter in your area, be sure to check out other photos on the web: The Beauty Look Book has an excellent feature with very helpful polish comparisons, and also visit Best Things in Beauty for a detailed review and swatches of the Blush Horizon de Chanel.

I don't plan to purchase anything further from this collection as I need to cut down on expenses in general, so chose just the products that I "couldn't live without" which, of course, includes eye shadow and nail polish! And I could not resist the pretty stripe pattern on the blush--but not only is it aesthetically beautiful, the color also seems like it will be very flattering. I'm looking forward to trying it out soon! In case it's helpful, I've included a list of all of the products in this collection at the very end of this post.

Note that the colors look more accurate in the macro photo shown below:

"From the break of dawn to the descent of twilight, skies reveal an enchanting array of hues with the arrival of Spring. Inspired by this brilliant seasonal change, Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, infused glowing, sunlit colour into the Spring 2012 Makeup Collection, HARMONIE DE PRINTEMPS. Subtle gradations of rose, coral and peach sculpt the face, giving it a soft radiance, while rich garnets and vivid pinks dress the lips."

  1. Beautiful photos! Like you, I also picked up only few items from this collection sight unseen. I don't think I'm quite ready for spring just yet but Chanel always makes beautiful colors. Enjoy your new goodies :)

  2. Hi Kristie, Thank you! It was so hard to narrow down the choices to just a few items -- I really liked the look of the eyeliner and the glossimers as well. I look forward to seeing your review of the items you ordered :)

  6. Hi Christina, The blush is great - very pigmented :) I love anything pink/peachy/coral!

Hi Tracy, Thank you! I know, I was not expecting it so soon -- would make nice holiday gifts though! :)

Hi Marina, Thank you! I think that is my favorite shade as well. I'll try to take more photos in different lighting soon :)

  8. Gorgeous picks! I always trust you to pick up the good ones. The blush looks amazing but I never wear anything that pink, so I'm going to resist the lure for now. Maybe just April for me. :)

  9. Hi Kriselie, Thanks very much! :) I love the design!

Hi Liz, Thank you - I so wish I could have got everything, but I had to restrain myself, lol. April's such a pretty, sophisticated color!

  10. Wow, what pretty photos. Yeah it's not even 2012 and already we are drooling over Spring picks! I am really liking that June nail polish. I feel like that Horizon blush may be too cool for my skin but that doesn't mean I won't try it on!!

  11. Hi Lexi, I know! I'm not really ready for Spring but always like pinks, peaches, and corals anytime :) Give the blush a try, I think it would look great on you! :)

  12. I think I've looked at this post 900 times. I am amazed at your photography concerning the quad especially. I've found Chanel eye quads to be the hardest cosmetic item to photograph and you've done it beautifully. I do believe resistance to this collection will be futile.

  13. Thank you Polarbelle. I try to get accurate colors but lighting affects color and can change it so much, it is not easy! :-) Yes, I find Chanel very hard to resist most all of the time lol

  14. Spring collections are always among my favorites! I love April and May from your pictures, but I haven't had the chance to see them in store. It would be nice to see what makes these otherwise safe colors special (in the Chanel sort of way)!

  16. Hi Dovey, I feel the same way about spring collections. I find the colors to be most wearable and pretty! :) I have yet to try the polishes on my fingers, but I really like May a lot! June will probably look great on some people but I don't think it works the best with my skintone...

Hi Cafe Bellini, Yes, Chanel has done it again! :) They are forever tempting me into parting with my hard-earned money!

  17. ....yeah, that blush looks all kinds of awesome. I've been thinking hard about buying a Chanel blush, and the stripey ones really do it for me, so this might be it! Do you think the pigmentation is enough for a darker skin tone?

  18. Hi beauty-obsessed - I think it will definitely show up & you can focus your brush on the dark rose stripe to get a bit darker color, but on very dark skins it may look more like a pink highlighter. It has very subtle shimmer. I'm medium-fair and on my skin it's about as dark and pigmented as NARS Orgasm but not as shimmery, and it's more pink toned, rather than peach/coral.
