Holiday Shopping: Henri Bendel

Today I'd like to share a few photos taken during and after a recent shopping trip to Henri Bendel. Earlier this year I was happy to see this New York icon since 1895 open a store in my area in South Florida. I finally ventured in last week to do some holiday shopping. I wanted almost everything in the store so it was a bit difficult to restrain myself!

I bought some sweets and candles for coworkers and a makeup brush set, a trio of Nails Inc. polishes, a glittery makeup bag, and a candle set for myself.

The Bendel candles smell lovely and make nice, reasonably priced gift for friends or colleagues, and the signature brown and white gift box always makes a great impression.

Love the watercolor design on these chocolate wrappers!

These cookies are going to a friend, but I'm kinda wishing I would have gotten some to try myself!

I am always drawn to anything shiny and sparkly!

Berkley Mews

Old Park Lane

Lexington Street

Left to right: Lexington Street, Old Park Lane, Berkeley Mews.

Lexington Street is a chocolatey-plum with blue-green sparkles. It's quite sheer, so needs 3 to 4 coats to look its best. Old Park Lane is a an opaque rose-bronze foil with a very thick formula. This one actually covers quite well with only one coat. Berkeley Mews is a softly shimmery indigo-violet that looks more purple toned on the nails than it does in the bottle and in these swatches.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of your week!

  10. Your pictures make the store look so enticing! I really enjoy the aesthetics, but both times I've shopped there, the salespeople were so darn pushy I had to high-tail out of there. :(

  11. Hi Maggie, oh I don't like pushy sales people either, they make me want to leave the store as well! I got lucky, the day I was there they pretty much left me alone =)

  12. Everything is SO pretty!! I love the retro styling. I would give half my polish collection for that lovely chocolate with green shimmer...or give half a jar of Blue Brown pigment for someone to make me one. :) Be sure to report back how great the brushes are. They look so soft and touch-worthy. What a fun shopping afternoon!

  13. Hi Polarbelle, I didn't think about it but the polish is a lot like Blue Brown pigment! :) The brushes are nice and soft and I really like the tapered shape of the crease brush. Happy holidays!
