Aqua, Pink and Green - at the Biltmore Hotel

Hi guys, here are a few more pictures I took at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables a few days ago (the previous post here has more photos and goes into more detail about the history of the hotel).

Book: The Biltmore Hotel: An Enduring Legacy. On nails: MAC's Snob

Wearing Spa Ritual's Delight

I was inspired by the turquoise color of the pool to pull out some aquatic colors from my stash. I chose Spa Ritual's Delight, a pastel seafoam green and Deborah Lippmann's On the Beach, an azure blue on toes. I couldn't decide which pictures to get rid of, so please forgive the many photos!

I wonder if anyone was thinking to themselves, "Why the heck is that woman taking photos of her hand?"

Love the pattern on the tile above.

MAC Snob, Spa Ritual Delight, and Deborah Lippmann On the Beach

I really like the way the three colors above look together. They definitely have an Art Deco, old-school Miami Vice sort of feel.

Warning: toe pictures below!

Deborah Lippmann's On the Beach

I've had these pink and gold sandals for a few years. They are made by Mystique, a brand that offers some really pretty sandals that are like jewelry for the feet.

That day I was inspired by Larie of Eye Heart It's tutorial, to use a colored pencil liner over liquid liner. For some reason I never like the way green eyeshadow looks on me, but I think this pencil liner is a nice subtle way to incorporate bright green into a look. Here I used Sephora's Flashy Liner in #12 Flashy Ultra Green over a brown liquid liner by Guerlain, Encre Brune #03.

If you have some time to kill take a look at the video footage I took at the hotel. This is my very first YouTube video and my amateur cinematic skills could use a little help! It's fairly long without any narration, so I recommend fast-forwarding through it to avoid falling asleep. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Hi Delicate Hummingbird. I love that Deborah Lippmann shade! I think it looks slightly darker in real life but it's still a really nice bright blue for summertime :)

  2. Such a grand location!! I love places with a bit of history. Thanks for the beautiful photos of the Biltmore and of the perfectly chosen nail colors:)) I really had my eye on Snob, but I read that it's got application issues. How did you manage with it?

    1. Hi Buggsiebee, Thanks! I didn't have any problems with the Snob formula, except it is somewhat sheer. It started to chip on the third day of wear. It is shiny even without a top coat, which is nice. :)

    2. Thanks for the FB:)) Sadly, snob was not part of the European release but it will be included in the MAC permanent collection which hits the shelves here some time before the end of Summer so I'll check it out then.
Due to your fruit inspired polish posts I have accumulated MANY new juicy colors so perhaps I should put real fruit instead of fruity polish on my shopping list for a while?!!

  5. These are such gorgeous pics!! I am jealous, I'd love to take a little vacation and stay at the Biltmore! And the nail polish shades that you chose go PERFECTLY with the decor and overall feel of the place. Really makes me want to go paint my nails a similar shade and lounge at the pool :)

    1. Hi Becca, Thank you! I really like turquoise for summer :) The Biltmore is a great place to visit - I'm lucky it is close to home. Hope you get to take a nice vacation soon! :)

  6. I loved the second? installation of the Biltmore series. Somehow the pink, blue and mint combination seems very at home together, even though each is a standout color in their own right! Your jeweled sandals seem right at home in the intricate tile details :)

  7. I need to watch this clip when I have more time and probably not at the office. I almost bought that DL shade, On the Beach but I bought Mermaid's Dreams instead - mainly for my daughter. As always, your photos inspire me to experiment with my camera and just get out of the house.

  8. Hi Lexi! Thank you! Mermaid's Dream is so pretty - love it :) The video is kinda boring but it was good practice for future videos - I need to learn how to edit down to make it more interesting & maybe do some narration. I am not the best speaker lol...

  12. Thanks for sharing this with us! I adore that Spa Ritual colour and I rejected the Lippmann blue because it didn't seem all that unique at the time - but now I am lemming it hard all over again! I especially love the shot of your hand against the white column though - really complements the seafoam green!

    1. Thanks Liz! I had a nice time taking photos there and would like to go back again and spend some time relaxing. I know there must be a few dupes for the Lippmann color. I originally got it to wear along with the Mermaid's Dream glitter shade that came out at the same time :)
