Liberté blush, Buenos Aires lip pencil, T. McEvoy lip pencil BareCalabria eye pencil, and Ramatuelle trio

Liberté blush is not nearly as dramatic once applied as it appears to be in the pan. I do like that it starts out somewhat sheer so there is no danger of overdoing it. It's a really pretty and flattering peachy terracotta shade that should suit a wide range of skin tones. Love it!

Buenos Aires is one of those light, warm nude-beige tones that's perfect to accompany stronger or more colorful eye looks. Velvet Gloss pencils have a great, shiny finish but last longer than most conventional lip glosses.

I did a simple eye look using Calabria shadow pencil as a liner, and then added some of the silver from the Ramatuelle trio on top of it and in the inner corner. When I was finished I realized I probably should have used the trio alone so you could have gotten a better sense of how it looks all on its own. Here you can see that the purple tone from Calabria is the dominant color.

The Ramatuelle trio has a very nice texture and is well pigmented. One caveat: the silver shade can be frosty--at first I didn't realize just how pigmented it is and so I kind of overdid it! I was worried the peachy shade might be too orange, and it is warm, but it's also soft and subtle, and surprisingly neutral and easy to wear. It works well as a crease shade. To be honest, I'm not really sure what else to do with it!

(Sorry about the bad lighting!)

Overall, Ramatuelle is a lovely, versatile palette that will coordinate well with most any liner, blush or lip color.

  1. Absolutely gorgeous!!! These colors are made for you! I might need to add that eye pencil to my Nars summer grouping.

    1. Thank you Polabelle! I haven't used Calabria all on its own yet. I have heard reports of major creasing so would be reluctant to recommend it to others. I mainly got it because I LOVE anything purple/plum. It works OK for me because I have very dry skin! :)

    1. Hi Replica, Thanks - you are sweet! I have been similarly tempted by your great product reviews! xx

  4. Thanks so much for the beautiful photos. I have read so many negative reviews about Calabria but I really loved the way you used it as a liner. I will check it out. I guess I can use it in a similar way with Grand Palais duo (which by the way, I bought after reading your lovely post as well!)

Thanks again for aiding and abetting :D

    All the best!

    1. Hi Aylin, thank you! :) I too have seen some negative reviews of Calabria so I wouldn't recommend it for everyone, but it should work if you have dry skin and use it as a base for powder shadows. Otherwise, I think it might crease too much!

    1. Hi Michelle, thank you so much! :) Calabria is such a pretty color. If you have it, have you had any trouble with creasing like others have?

    2. I've only had 1 Soft touch pencil and that was in Aigle Noir. I only applied a tiny bit as a base kind of wash of color and spread it around with my fingers and applied eyeshadow on top. I have crazy oily lids and it didn't crease, I haven't tried Calabria yet... I've seen some bad reviews but I'm not sure if id depends on the color or application method.

    3. I think the method you used with Aigle Noir is the best way to use these pencils :)

    1. Hi Tracy, aw, thanks! Thus far, I have only tried Calabria as a liner and set it with powder. I think if I used it all over the lid and into the crease it would probably crease after a while even though I have super-dry skin so things tend not to crease on me. For those with oily skin I think it would definitely be an issue!

    2. I'll have to add Calabria on my shopping list too. I'm so broke this month from all the new collections. I need help!

    1. Thank you Martha! Even though the peach in the trio looks bright it still coordinates well with any other colors you would like to pair with it. The silver is a little difficult for me to carry off! The champagne is my fave :)

    1. Hi C, Thanks so much! I think it's a nice, versatile trio if you don't already have similar colors - it's the sort of thing you could use on a daily basis with some black/brown liner and be ready to go! The silver was a little too cool & frosty on my skin tone, but it does have a nice texture!

  9. You have such a knack for wearing makeup without ever looking over-done! This looks absolutely fantastic, and if I weren't already drooling over this collection, I am entirely convinced I need it all now! Thanks for showing us this FOTD :D

  13. What a lovely look! And I agree with Toyarosie, you do do makeup looks that still look professional and not overly done - which I very much like and prefer to see.
