True to its name, Lancome's Vibrant Violet is a colorful, medium-toned violet. Although it looks quite bright in the container, it is more subtle when applied and you can layer it to gradually build up the color intensity to your liking. It is shimmery, but has a soft glow rather than a full-on metallic quality. When I look very closely I can see that it has extremely fine sparkles, but not of the sort that would create any issues with fall-out. Vibrant Violet would be a worthy addition to any violet-lover's collection.

Some of you may already know that I have a weakness for all things violet and have written in the past about my love of violet fragrances. And as for the color violet...well, there's just something about that perfect ratio of blue to red that makes it a truly stand-out shade among all other purples.

ReplyDeleteI don't own any of these violet. I also see a bit of indigo blue tone in this eyeshadow. I like the color when it's swatched and hopefully I will be able to wear this color for day use too :)
Thank you Memoiselle! :) I think violet could work well for daytime too! Whenever I use colorful or very shimmery colors during the day I apply less product and blend out more, or use the color mostly on the lid with only a little bit in the crease. :)

ReplyDeleteHi Lexi, I love violet, but it is one of those colors, like blue, that are hard to wear. I would probably use just a little bit on the lid or as liner and then wear totally neutral/nude lip color. :)
DeleteHi MM, What a beautiful violet! I didn't realize they came with white stripes. I tried growing some a while back, but they are hard to care for; I'm impressed yours is a ripe five years old :). You have a gorgeous selection of violets too; I think my collection is awfully thin in this department. I might have one MAC shadow similar to this that my brother bought for me one time.

I am totally amazed that I have managed to keep it alive for so long. Violet is one of those colors that I love, but don't wear often enough! I tend to fall back on my neutrals for everyday.
DeleteGorgeous photos! I'm a huge fan of violets and purples - clothing, makeup, etc. The sad thing is I can't really pull off violet eyeshadows for some reason. I always end up looking really strange :)

DeleteI love purple and violet shades too, Vibrant Violet looks absolutely gorgeous. How do you find the wear time of these? I suffer from super oily lids so I'm wondering whether these will last on my lids.
ReplyDeleteHi Jacqueline, I think the lasting power of these is pretty good. Have you tried the L'Oreal's Infallible? If so, these are the same formula. I actually don't get the chance to wear all of them very often, which means it's definitely time to go on an eye-shadow spending ban! :)
