| Mini light-up spooky haunted house from Target |
It's time once again for my annual Halloween nail color post! Below are thirteen shades I chose that I thought would be appropriate for some Halloween fun. I've included a couple of Zoya's first ever holo shades, from their new holiday collection Ornate. Also new here is Sephora by OPI's Here's Lilac-in At You Kid, which must be seen in person to appreciate its true beauty! (If you would like to see past Halloween nail posts, click here for 2011 and here for 2010.)

- Zoya - Storm
- Butter London - The Black Knight

Close-up comparison: Zoya's Storm (top) has holographic shimmer, whereas Butter London's The Black Knight (bottom) has small black, pink, blue, and silver glitter, giving it more of a rough texture.

Do you have any special plans for Halloween? What color nail polish will you be wearing, if any? I think I might go with this one:

Great colors for Halloween. That owl is super-cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteHow many coats of the Zoya Electra polish do you need to get that "tinsel" look? I get discouraged sometimes with glittery polishes because I have to brush on so many coats for my desired look.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I love that sparkly "haunted" house! Nice touch!
Hi Torika, Thank you - the haunted house was an inexpensive find from Target. Yes, glittery polishes can take a lot of work to put on and take off! I used three coats here, but I think it still could have used one more coat! :)
DeleteHi MM, I'm so happy you did a Halloween post again this year, as last year's was wonderful. I love the multicolored windows in the spooky haunted house and the owl is too cute. Out of the swatches Essie Fear or Desire and Sinful Daddy's Girl stand out for me for their vibrancy and Misa Phazers on Stun for its slight murkiness. I hope you have a Happy Halloween too :)
ReplyDeleteHi Dovey, Aw, thank you! I guess it has become a tradition now :) I love the tiny haunted house & I think it was only about $6 at Target. :) I got Fear or Desire a while back and haven't worn it yet, but after swatching it I realized it would make a great summer pedi shade. Happy Halloween!
DeleteLove the halloween colors you have there!! But I love more the way you put on polish! SO neat and so clean! Any tips? Do you always cut your cuticles before applying polish? Followed your inspiring blog for more updates and reviews and tutorials! :)

Hi Shari, Thanks! My cuticles don't really grow much so I just push them back. I use cuticle remover once in a while. Here are a couple of YouTube videos that show different nail polish application techniques that I found helpful:

OMG thanks for the amazing swatches! My favorite from those swatches would be Butter LONDON Black Knight and Zoya Aurora. Your picture looks amazing btw xoxo!
ReplyDeleteHi Memoiselle, Thank you! I am loving Zoya's new collection. Aurora has very noticeable holographic shimmer :)
ReplyDeleteOk I am in LOVE with the Sinful Colors Daddy's Girl and Zoya Aurora--so pretty and fun! Also I love that book! :D
ReplyDeleteHi Becca, The Sinful Colors is a pretty shade but very sheer. Still like it though, but it needs many coats! I read the Wicked book a couple of years ago. I love the cover design -- thought it was perfect for a Halloween photo :)
DeleteHere's Lilac-In Ya is so pretty! It's not really a spooky color but can definitely be paired with a cool horrifying outfit. Thanks for the beautiful swatches.
ReplyDeleteHi Kristie, It's really pretty, and in person you can see that it has a bit of duo-chrome. It's unlike anything else I have. Have a fun Halloween! :)
