Marc Jacobs Nail Lacquer In-store Swatches: Lola, Daisy, Oui! and Jezebel

I stopped by the Marc Jacobs display at Sephora today for a second look at the new Enamored Hi-Shine Nail Lacquer shades. I thought I would share a few photos of the shades I tried on in the store, in case they are helpful to those who don't have a Sephora nearby.

My picks so far have been Funny Girl (opaque pale warm beige/nude), Le Charm (complex sparkly rose-gold), Petra (complex sparkly dark plum-bronze), Desire (classic shimmery ruby red), Daisy (pearly pink-ivory), Oui! (shimmery magenta-violet), Fluorescent Beige (muted taupe-mauve with pink iridescence), and Glinda (fine silver glitter in a clear base) -- you know I'm a magpie when it comes to glitter!

Overall, I am loving the majority of the shades introduced thus far and hope to see more in the future! I will try to post swatches of the two colors I have on hand (Funny Girl and Daisy) this weekend. I ordered the others shades mentioned above online and am looking forward to receiving them next week. I also have my eye on Jezebel and Lola.

What are your initials thoughts on the line so far? I haven't tested anything else aside from the Style-Eye-Con No. 7 palettes and the eyeliners, which seem very nice at first glance. I was impressed with the pigmentation and texture of all of the shades in The Starlet palette, and love the neutral shades in the The Lolita palette. My wishlist is growing longer by the day!

These were all topped with the Marc Jacobs "Shiny" topcoat.

  1. Hi Shannon,

Wonderful post! I've been more excited than I had anticipated over the MARC JACOBS collection. For me, it was nice to see them in person over promo photos!

I think Oui! Is the most unique to MARC JACOBS shade here, and it did stand out to me relative to all the colors released, even though it's not my usual cup of tea. I'm really intrigued by MJ Fluorescent Beige from you swatches too! I love eyeshadows in this color so it's fun to see it as a nail polish.

Other colors I've been drawn to include MJ Jezebel (as I can't resist a dark red) and Gatsby!

    1. Hi Dovey, Thank you! I am super excited about the collection as well. I am trying not to go overboard and break my budget lol. I love Oui! as I have a weakness for purples/magentas, but it is one that doesn't dry very shiny, so needs a glossy topcoat. Jezebel is so pretty and elegant! Gatsby is very glamorous - super opaque and foil-like. I think Fluorescent Beige is a nice neutral that can transition well from summer to fall/winter. :)

  2. I'm really in to Jezebel but I like florescent beige more than I thought I would!

  3. Thank you very much for this! I was actually curious about Lola, if it is anything similar to Revlon Red. (My friend is in the States right now and could pick it up for me). But looks like it's not.

    1. Hi Marina, I think Lola may have a little more orangey-ness to it in comparison to Revlon Red. It's like a tomato red. Pretty! I haven't tested wear time on any of these yet, but the formulas have been pretty nice :)

  4. I'm admiring the line from afar because I don't know if/when Marc Jacobs will be launched in Australia. The packaging looks lovely too!

    1. Hi Vita, I like the packaging for the nail lacquers -- it is unique! The packaging of the lipsticks doesn't quite have the expensive feel of some of the other products, and they are pricey at $30. I do like the sleekness of the eye palettes :)

    2. I did send the MJ team a letter to find out when and where they would be stocked in Australia because we don't have a Sephora. I got nothing back. :( Granted I got mine online by getting them off the Marc Jacobs site and forwarding that to a remailer then to Aus. The lengths we have to go to for stuff in Australia. :)

  7. Hi Shannon,

I went a bit cray cray and got all of these (except the clear) and have been swatching and wearing these. I've reviewed Le Charm (so so gorgeous), Daisy and Oui (and will be posting Glinda and Desire shortly). I'm doing wear tests on these too - I have been wearing Glinda since Tuesday (it's Sunday now) and It's just starting to chip. That's pretty spectacular in my books for wear on a glitter. I LOVE this formula and the colours are fab (even the ones that seem a little more mainstream, they may seem like they are dupe-able and then you put them on and wow yourself - like Shocking (gorgeous pink)). For anyone looking at the MJ polishes, swatch them all. Get some sticky tape and suss them out. You won't be disappointed (except for Lux, streaky nightmare that it was for me).

    1. Hi Kathy, I can totally understand wanting to have all of these! I love Le Charm :) Glinda is such a pretty glitter - it's very simple and basic but I think I like it even more than glitters that have a lot going on! I haven't tried Lux yet. I know I'll be making another trip to Sephora to look at them all again :)
